Cross-Border Transport & Regulatory Compliance

We coordinate every step of the logistics and compliance chain, from packaging, labelling, and documentation to customs procedures and permits, ensuring that every shipment is legal and transparent. Thanks to our partnerships, we can arrange transboundary waste transfer under Basel Convention requirements, including export to specialized treatment facilities in Europe.

Where possible, we seek to minimize environmental impact and maximize material recovery.
Certain hazardous residues, for instance, may be stabilized, recycled, or processed for energy recovery, always in line with the highest safety and environmental standards, and without harmful emissions.

Final Treatment and Destruction

For irreversible destruction, we collaborate with certified incineration plants operating under strict environmental controls. In particular, we can ship hazardous waste to Veolia, France, the world leader in hazardous waste treatment, ensuring complete and compliant destruction. Veolia’s capabilities include high-temperature incineration, physicochemical treatment, and energy recovery, all supported by full traceability.

Risk Management & Traceability

From initial characterization and classification to transport, treatment, and certification, our processes are designed around safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. We provide full documentation, chain-of-custody tracking, and destruction certificates, giving clear visibility over every step of the waste lifecycle.

Type of waste

Hazardous Industrial Waste This includes waste generated from industrial processes like paints, solvents, adhesives, resins, and heavy metals. These materials can be flammable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive, posing risks to human health and the environment.
Pharmaceutical Waste Products Expired, unused, or contaminated medications, along with research chemicals and biohazardous materials from healthcare facilities, fall under this category. Improper disposal can lead to environmental contamination and medication misuse.
Chemical Waste Unwanted or leftover chemicals from laboratories, research institutions, and manufacturing facilities are classified as chemical waste. These can be acids, bases, flammable liquids, or oxidizers, requiring special handling and disposal due to their hazardous properties.
Cytotoxic Waste This highly toxic waste includes materials contaminated with cytotoxins, which can harm or kill living cells. Examples include chemotherapy drugs, certain laboratory cultures, and animal research waste.
Infectious Waste Materials potentially containing infectious pathogens like bacteria, viruses, or parasites are classified as infectious waste. This includes medical waste, biohazardous materials from research labs, and sharps like needles and syringes.
Pesticides Expired, unused, or contaminated pesticides used in agriculture and pest control are hazardous due to their toxicity. Improper disposal can harm wildlife, contaminate soil and water sources, and pose risks to human health.
PCBs These persistent organic pollutants were used in electrical equipment and coolants but are now banned due to their health and environmental hazards. Toxivia offers safe disposal solutions for PCB-containing materials.
Contaminated Soils Soil can become contaminated with various hazardous materials like heavy metals, petroleum products, or pesticides. Toxivia provides safe and effective methods for remediating contaminated soil.
Asbestos This naturally occurring mineral fiber can cause serious health problems when inhaled. Toxivia offers asbestos abatement and disposal services to ensure safe removal and handling.
Halon Gas Once used in fire suppression systems, halon gas depletes the ozone layer. Toxivia offers responsible disposal options for halon gas in compliance with environmental regulations.

Our Process

Packaging Providing packaging services and materials that comply with the requirements outlined in Section 6 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.
Transporting Organizing the Transfrontier Shipment (TFS) of hazardous waste to appropriate disposal facilities.
Training Offering comprehensive training to client staff to raise awareness of potential exposure risks associated with hazardous waste and instructing them on proper handling procedures.
Regulatory Administration Coordinating administrative tasks to ensure compliance with various regulations, including Transfrontier Shipment documents, waste shipment regulations, and Customs requirements.
Conditioning Repackaging hazardous substances conducted by proficient qualified supervisors and trained operators.
Delivering Certificate of Destruction Providing official certification confirming the proper destruction of hazardous substances.
Final Waste Treatment Involving methods such as incineration, landfill disposal, or recycling, depending on the nature of the waste and applicable regulations.
